Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for our recent general membership meeting featuring Sonya Norsworthy Marbley. For those who were in attendance, we hope you found the discussion on empathy, equity, emotional intelligence, and inclusive leadership both inspiring and practical. For those who were unable to attend, we are pleased to share the resources from the session so you can still benefit from the content and reflections.
Attached you will find the Empathy & Equity reference materials Sonya generously provided, including key research sources and the “3-Second Pause” framework, which offers a simple but powerful tool to support thoughtful, equitable, and human-centered decision-making in our daily practice and leadership.
These resources align closely with NODNA’s commitment to advancing not only clinical excellence, but also the relational and leadership skills that strengthen our profession and the communities we serve.
We encourage you to review and share these materials, and to continue the conversations around empathy, equity, and inclusive leadership within your teams and professional spaces.
Thank you for your continued engagement and for being an active part of our NODNA community.
Warm regards,
Catina Gordon-Oates, MSN, RN, BSBA, NE-BC, PED-BC
